Every figure on this page is computed from the inputs you enter, by the method stated below it. RoughInDesk publishes no market averages and quotes no survey: the defaults are a worked example to replace with your own. The pipe dimensions in the pipe-size tool are the published standard sizes, cited on that page.
A plumbing inventory app for a small shop is not a warehouse system: it is the list of what is on each truck and in the shop, the reorder point for the parts the crew uses every week, the cost of each part so the price book stays honest, and the count at the end of the month so the parts that walked off are visible. The plumbing price book template on this site carries the part costs and the markup, free; RoughInDesk Pro keeps the stock per truck and flags the reorder.

The truck list, per truck
Each truck carries a standard load: the fittings, the valves, the supply lines, the wax rings, the cartridges, the flappers, the fill valves. The app holds that list per truck with the count, and the tech marks what was used on each job from the invoice, so the count is kept by the invoice rather than by a separate chore.
The reorder point and the supplier
Each part has the count at which it is reordered and the supplier it comes from, so the order goes out before the truck runs out and the tech does not stop at the supply house on the customer's time. The price book template on this site holds the part cost that the reorder is priced against.
The cost that feeds the price book
A part's cost changes and the price book has to follow it, or the flat rate that was built on last year's cost is quietly losing margin. Keeping the part cost in one place that both the inventory and the price book read is the point of having the app rather than two spreadsheets.
The month-end count
Once a month the truck is counted against the app and the difference is the shrinkage: parts used and not invoiced, or parts that left. Pro produces the difference per truck, which is the report that changes behavior. From the vendors' own pricing pages: Tradify lists Lite at $47, Pro at $51 and Plus at $61 per user per month; Jobber lists Core at $49 per month for one user with additional users at $29 each; Housecall Pro lists Basic at $59 per month billed annually or $79 monthly. RoughInDesk Pro is $47 per month for the whole crew.

Plumbing inventory app: common questions
Is there a free plumbing inventory app? The price book template on this site holds the part costs and the markup for free with no account. Pro adds the stock per truck, the usage from the invoice and the reorder flag.
Do I need barcodes? Not for a truck list of a few hundred parts. Marking the parts used from the invoice keeps the count without scanning anything.
How does inventory connect to invoicing? The invoice lists the parts used on the job; the app deducts them from the truck. One entry, two records.
